The Baby, the debut studio album by indie singer-songwriter Samia, was released on August 28, 2020 via Grand Jury Music. It was recorded with Caleb Hinz as well as Nathan Stocker and Jake Luppen of Hippo Campus in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The album received positive reviews, including a 7.9 on Pitchfork. The album was announced in April of 2020 along with the release of the single "Is There Something In The Movies?”.The rest of the singles, which were released throughout the summer of 2020, were "Big Wheel", "Fit N Full", "Triptych" and "Stellate". In January of 2021, Samia released a follow up album to The Baby called The Baby Reimagined, which consisted of covers and remixes of the songs off of The Baby by fellow indie artists, including Field Medic, Christian Lee Hudson, Charlie Hickey and Palehound.
