About this product:

The State, released in 2000, is the second album released by the Canadian rock band Nickelback. "Leader of Men" was the lead single from this album followed by "Old Enough", "Breathe" and "Worthy to Say". It held a peak position of #130 on the Billboard 200, higher than their previous album Curb's peak of #182. It also held a peak position on Billboard top heatseekers albums charts position #3 in 2000. The album went gold in 2000 in Canada and in late 2001 in the United States, the album was released in Europe in April 2001 but did not sell as well as in North America. The State was first released in 1998 in Canada with a blue album cover as an independent record. After its initial release, Roadrunner Records signed Nickelback and it was re-released in Canada in September 1999. It was then released in the US on March 7, 2000, with completely new artwork featuring a young boy in a jail cell. This cover then replaced the album's cover in all countries. Signed to Roadrunner, Nickelback had recorded their first official video for "Leader of Men" which saw increased international airplay. "Old Enough" and "Worthy to Say" also have music videos. In the video for Leader of Men, it featured the band playing in the recording room, while outside a riot was taking place. In the video for Old Enough it simply showed the band playing at a concert. The video for "Worthy to Say" showed a boy carrying majijuana skateboard past another boy, while handing off the marijuana to the second boy. Then later on the police see the second boy with the marijuana and chase him in their car. They finally capture the boy and question him. During the questioning the boy appears to tell the police about the other boy who is eventually caught and arrested as well. The album was certified Platinum by RIAA in October, 2008. The album turn gold in 2000 in Canada. Track listing All lyrics written by Chad Kroeger; all music composed by Nickelback.
