While based on the animated kids' show, the game's storyline is a variation on the 1998 film starring Matthew Broderick. Godzilla hatched from an egg deep in the Manhattan sewers and bonded as a little lizard with Dr. Nick Tatopoulos. Tatopoulos is the leader of the H.E.A.T. team, a group of scientists dedicated to exploring strange occurrences around the world.
