About this product:

Chickenfoot III is the second studio album by American hard rock band Chickenfoot, released on September 27, 2011.[1] The first pressing of the album was packaged in an exclusive 3-D album cover and includes at least 10 to 12 new songs. Despite the title, this is not actually the band's third album. Other rumored titles that have been mentioned include Chickenfoot IV (four). ProductionThe band began to record the album back in April 2010, when they had some free time. They demoed four unnamed songs and put one of them in a video describing the A.M.P.F. technology (which stands for "Audio Musical Performance Fidelity"). On March 11, 2011, Sammy Hagar said that the "as-yet-untitled" new album is almost done and is due out in the fall. He also gave away some song names from the album such as "Astral Years", "No Change", and "Who's Next". It was announced on March 12, 2011, by Sammy Hagar, during the Canadian music week in Toronto, ON (promoting his new autobiography Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock), he announced the name of the album is going to be Chickenfoot IV. In a recent interview, Joe Satriani stated that they have "99% of the drums, bass, and guitars finished", and that "Sammy still needs to do his vocal parts. We haven't even done the real mixes yet, but I can tell you right now, the sound of the album is tremendous." On May 3, 2011, Joe Satriani sent out an email to all his fans saying that the new album (Chickenfoot IV) is "heavier and better than the first one." He also stated the band is hoping to mix the album in June 2011. On May 22, Chad Smith tweeted that he had just finished cutting the last two songs for the album. Also, on May 23, on the band's official Facebook page, they announced that they entered into the studio again that past weekend to work on the album. On June 19, 2011, in an interview with Joe Satriani, he revealed that Chickenfoot IV is due out in October. Satriani also confirmed that the band will do a select number of shows in the fall, and hopefully more in February 2012. The band must work around Sammy and Chad's other schedules. On June 20, 2011, on his birthday, Michael Anthony confirmed that the mixing for the new album has been completed, with the first single expected to hit radio airways this summer (of 2011), and the full enchilada to be released in October. In an interview with Mike [Anthony], he confirmed that the band hopes to have the first single out by July, and that the full album to be released in fall. The band hopes to go back on tour in late fall, or by next year for sure. He also stated his favorite song from the new album was "Different Devil". On June 30, 2011, Michael Anthony told the Van Halen News Desk directly that the new album will be released on September 27, 2011. He also confirmed that the new album will not be titled Chickenfoot IV, as the band had decided against it. The rumored first single from the album is "Bigfoot" that will be hitting radio airways in July 2011. It was announced on July 6, 2011 that the band had just signed a new distributing deal with eOne Music in North America, and that the name of the new album is Chickenfoot III. On July 8, 2011, the band posted a new video online of the first teaser of one of the songs from the new album with this message included in the video: "Attention Foot Soldiers. Get Your Boots On. September 27, 2011." On July 13, 2011, the track listing for the album was revealed by Rolling Stone's website.
